Welcome!
My name is Nick Oredson. I am a writer, university instructor,
group facilitator and mental health practitioner currently
living and working in Southern Oregon. I hold a master’s degree
in education (M.S.Ed.) from Southern Oregon University (2020)
where I focused my studies on higher education administration,
emotional intelligence education and group facilitation. For my
master’s degree final project, I created the Campus Connection
Circle, a peer-support based, weekly, drop-in support group
designed for college students.
I also currently facilitate a variety of support circles in my local
community - both men’s groups and mixed gender groups - that
focus on healing, growth, mutual support and intergender
reconciliation.

I have a private practice working with adults and mentoring youth that is based in Ashland, Oregon.
I take a healing and growth approach to personal well-being and collaborate with my clients to first identify their core qualities and inner strengths and then work with them to help them build a strong, reliable relationship with these inner assets. When working with clients I also emphasize the importance of addressing developmental trauma when seeking to improve overall health and well-being.

I am currently writing a book entitled: The Shadow Work Companion: A Handbook for Exploring the Mystery of Self, due out in the spring of 2025. Written with a deep compassion for the human experience, The Shadow Work Companion offers a wide range of activities, exercises and strategies designed to assist the reader in investigating what is known as the shadow, the hidden part of the human psyche that Carl Jung described as “...that dark region of the personality which is unknown and unrecognized by the ego”. Starting with basic activities that can be done in an hour or less and moving on to deeper processes that can take place over weeks or months, the book is written in plain language and is designed for readers of any experience level. The Shadow Work Companion is an essential tool for anyone interested in exploring their internal landscape on a deeper level. The activities and exercises in the book provide many opportunities for readers to reconnect with their essential self, fully engage with their adult resources, perspectives, and wisdom, and create the world that they desire rather than struggle to survive in the world that was thrust upon them as children.

“Nick is a treasure to me and has played an essential role in deepening my relationship with my treasured son.”
